How do we define sustainability?

We are aligned with the United Nations’ definition of sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Brundtland Commission, 1987). For our purposes, this broadly includes all the social, environmental, and economic issues and topics that are covered by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Collating African resources and data

We aim to collect and collate a variety of publicly available and free sustainability publications here.

Our aim is to continually expand and deepen African knowledge systems about local sustainability issues, and to promote the development and management of useful, easily accessible data, that will enable better decision-making on our continent.
